PHON THONG (ROI ET), THAILAND, September 2, 2013
Charity Adds New Technologies and Helps Local Beautification
Those who have visited the donation page of Kayson's Safe Haven website will notice that the donations link is currently off-line. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are in the process of making on-line donations quicker and more efficient. When finished, it will automatically profide each donor a tax-deductible receipt via e-mail. It will also provide the highest degree of security to protect your credit card information.
Another "technological advancement" is the addition of Internet services being provided at the Phun Thong facility. This is something quite unusual for this small rice village. Most of the local people have never had access to this source of communication, and were only able to experience it in some of the bigger neighboring cities. Now the computers that have been donated to Kayson's Safe Haven will be able to make use of the Internet's power. Among other capabilities, it provides communication via Skype to anywhere in the world. There are also plans to make use of on-line educational services for members of the local community.
In late August of 2012, Kayson brought medical supplies, and donated clothing to give to the poor. She also visited a local hospital and provided comfort to some of those who were being treated for various ailments. The 19-year old man shown in the photo is being treated for cancer. Some photos taken at the hospital are available in the websites photo gallery link.
Also during the visit, Kayson donated money and aid to the family (left) of a young child she met when handing out clothing to the poor. She visited with the family at their home and pledged to provide funds for their son's education. The photo shown to the left is of the young boy and his parents at their modest home.
This young man (right) was injured in a car accident and is wheelchair bound. His parents are deceased and he lives with one of the neighbors. He is only 21-years old. Kayson Safe Haven provided some money to the family caring for him.
To help beautify the area near the charity facility, Kayson helped the mayor of Phun Thong organize a clean-up party to clear the weeded areas along the dirt roads leading back to the Kayson Safe Haven facility, as well as clear some of the over-growth that was blocking the view of the large lake that is in the heart of the Phun Thong village.
To make it easier for visitors to find the Kayson Safe Haven facility, a new sign has been erected at one of the intersections.
For more information, you may contact Kayson personally at the USA address shown below or e-mail her at kayson@kaysonsafehaven.com .
